I would like to pass on a BIG thanks to Paul and Vanessa at Carbide Tools. I recently had the challenge of modifying a large set of production dies that are located abroad from our office in New Zealand. I made a drawing of a profile cutter that would allow the machine shop abroad to make the modification to each die in just two cuts using a manual mill. When I presented the idea to Paul and Vanessa they were only too happy to help me out. Within no time Paul had worked out how to make the profile cutter work with the depth of cut and swarf clearance needed to make this work smoothly. I put the cutter through it’s paces in NZ before sending it abroad, who got the same excellent results-nice clean cut with a smooth finish and the chip clearance worked well. Regards Josh

Hi Paul,
We have now done a bit of cutting with the tool and its fantastic. Full depth and a pass in each direction produces such clean cuts. We have experimented with a range of feeds and have dialled in on a sweet spot for production vs quality.
We have produced all of the initial samples for the customer and they are very happy as well.
