For as long as we’ve been making cutting tools, we’ve always believed that the best results come from real conversations. That’s how we’ve built trust, solved complex problems, and grown Carbide Tools into what it is today. But as the industry changes, so do the needs of the people in it.
We’ve heard the same thing from customers again and again:
“I just want to see what you’ve got, check a price, place an order and get on with my job.”
So, we made it happen.
Why We Took the Leap
Until now, our tools haven’t had prices online, and that’s been deliberate. Many of our tools are made-to-order, tailored to suit niche applications and built to tight specs. That kind of work doesn’t belong in a cart.
But not everything needs to be entirely custom.
We’ve been building a range of tried-and-true tools (Standard tooling) that machinists, fabricators, and engineers across New Zealand and Australia rely on every day. Tools that solve common problems and don’t need a design brief to get going.
So, for the first time ever, we’ve launched an online store which is now live on our website, with real-time pricing and instant ordering.
It wasn’t an easy decision, but once we realised that people wanted easier access to our products and prices, the natural next step was to display the tools that our customers love in our online store. We pride ourselves on our hands on customer service, so we encourage anyone that has a question or problem to solve to get in touch with us before you buy, we are not salesmen -we are a family trying to make a difference.

Our online store is built with speed and simplicity in mind. Whether you’re in a small workshop or a large facility, we know how much your time matters. Now, instead of waiting on a quote or chasing an email, you can go straight to the website and get what you need, no back-and-forth required unless you are after a size that we don’t have listed.
When things are urgent, speed matters.
We’ve already had customers find the right tool online, place an order after hours, and have it shipped the next day. That’s exactly what this is for.
What You’ll Find on the Store
The tools listed online are the ones we get asked for most, the ones we’ve made thousands of times, for all kinds of applications. Right now, to name a few that includes:

We have started with just 43 products, but we will be adding tools regularly based on demand, and we will continue to build it out as we go. Every tool is clearly listed with specs, applications, and up-to-date pricing. You’ll also find high-quality photos (taken right here in the workshop) so you know exactly what you’re getting.
We also have a ‘Promotions’ page that will be updated and added to regularly, here you can find deals, products and bargains that only a manufacturer can offer. From time to time, we end up with extras -setup tools, overstock, or tools with minor aesthetic marks that don’t affect performance. Instead of letting them sit on a shelf, we’re offering them to you at prices well below anything you’ll find from a retailer in New Zealand. Same unmatched craftsmanship, same superior performance… just a much better deal.
Custom Still Matters
Going online doesn’t mean going generic.
We’re still making custom tools every single day and absolutely loving it. Whether it’s a tool that doesn’t exist yet, a modification to one of our online products or even fixing a tool you bought from somewhere else that doesn’t meet your expectations.

Launching this store is a big milestone for us, not just because it’s new tech, but because it opens the door for more people to discover what we do and how we compare against the brands that are coming from overseas.
